Privacy Policy

Your answers are yours.

This policy explains what information TwoVenn collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Effective September 15, 2026.

The short version.

  • Your answers are private by default. Your partner sees them only when you both explicitly agree.
  • We collect what we need to run the app: your account details, your answers, and basic technical information.
  • The text TwoVenn writes for you (discussion questions, directions, your Our Life page, the guide to your partner) is written by an AI model, only from a category you have both agreed to share, and is never used to train it.
  • We don't sell your information and we don't show ads.
  • You can delete your account and everything in it yourself, from the app, at any time.

1. What we collect

Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address, a display name, and a password, which is stored only as a one-way hash. You can add your pronouns; they are optional and are used only in the text the app writes for you and your partner.

Relationship information. To connect you with your partner we store the relationship you create or join, the name you give it, and which two accounts belong to it.

Your answers. The responses you give to questions in the app, including choices such as "Not sure" or "Prefer not to say", any importance ratings, and any free-text answers you write. These are the core of the service and are treated as private to you.

Sensitive topics. Some categories ask about sexual activity and boundaries, intimacy, trust, alcohol and other substances, and politics. Answers in these categories can reveal information about your sex life, health, or political opinions, which the law in many places treats as sensitive. Nothing in these categories is stored until you choose to answer them. Every question in them can be skipped or answered "Prefer not to say", and "share all my answers" leaves them out unless you include them deliberately. By answering questions in a sensitive category, you agree to us storing those answers and using them as described in this policy. You can withdraw that agreement by changing or removing your answers, or by deleting your account.

Shared content. Content you create with your partner, such as conversation outcomes, the direction you choose for each aspect, Shared Directions, and the Our Life documents. We also keep a log of sharing decisions in your relationship: who asked to reveal a category or answer, who agreed, and who withdrew, so that both of you can see the history and neither can be shown something the other did not agree to.

Written text. The text the app writes for you and any edits you make to it, kept with its previous versions so you can go back to them, together with a structured summary of a shared category (where each of you stands on each aspect) that the text is written from. The guide to your partner is visible only to the person it was written for.

Subscription status. If you subscribe to TwoVenn Premium, we store whether your subscription is active, which plan it is, and when it renews or ends, so both accounts in your relationship can be unlocked. We never receive your payment card details.

Technical information. Our servers keep standard request logs for a short period: your IP address, the time of each request, and your app version and operating system. When the app checks for an update it sends the app version and platform, nothing about you. We do not use analytics or crash-reporting tools, and we do not track how you use the app. Apple may share aggregated, anonymous crash and usage statistics with us if you have opted in to that on your device.

Support messages. If you contact us, we keep your message and our reply so we can help you and improve the app.

We do not collect your location, your contacts, your photos, your device identifiers, or health records. We do not show ads and we do not use advertising or tracking identifiers.

2. How we use it

We use the information described above to:

  • Provide the app: create and secure your account, connect you with your partner, save your answers, and produce shared results.
  • Produce shared results. Results are calculated on our servers from both partners' responses, with fixed rules, not by an AI model.
  • Write your text. The discussion questions, direction options, Shared Directions, the Our Life page and the guide to your partner are written by an AI model run by Anthropic. To write them, we send the model the questions and both partners' answers for one category at a time, only for a category you have both agreed to share with each other. The model is not given your names, email address, or account identifiers: it sees you as "Partner A" and "Partner B", with your pronouns if you set them, and the app puts your names into the finished text afterwards. Free-text answers in the sensitive categories described in section 1 are never sent to the model. Nothing else about you is sent. Anthropic does not use this data to train its models and, under its commercial terms, deletes API inputs and outputs from its systems within 30 days (see how long Anthropic stores API data and API data retention). The Our Life page is written from the directions you both approved, which you have already chosen to share. The model does not make decisions about you, and everything it writes you can edit or discard. If an answer suggests that someone may be unsafe, the app withholds the written text for that aspect and shows where to find help instead; no person at TwoVenn reads your answers to do this, and nothing is reported to anyone.
  • Keep the service running: keep the servers up, protect against misuse, and validate purchases to prevent fraud.
  • Communicate with you about your account, the service, and your support requests.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your answers for advertising.

3. Sharing with your partner

TwoVenn is designed so that your partner cannot see your individual answers unless you choose to share them.

  • Shared results describe where you land as a couple, such as "mostly aligned" or "worth discussing", without revealing who answered what.
  • Your partner can see whether you have finished a category, but not what you answered or which questions you skipped.
  • To reveal specific answers, both partners must agree. Either partner can withdraw that agreement at any time. While a category is shared, either of you can change your own answers and the comparison updates for both of you; sharing of a single topic or question withdraws automatically if an answer changes.
  • Once you both approve a category's Shared Direction, its answers are locked until either of you reopens it.
  • Content you create together, such as Shared Directions, is visible to both partners by design.

If your relationship in the app ends, your answers remain yours. Shared content created together may remain visible to both of you until it is removed. If one of you deletes their account, their answers and account are removed, and content you approved together stays with the remaining partner.

You can export the Our Life page and the guide to your partner as a PDF and share it however you like. Anything you export in this way leaves TwoVenn and is under your control.

4. Service providers

We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run TwoVenn. They process information only on our behalf and under our instructions:

  • Supabase, which hosts our database, authentication, and server functions in the United States and stores your account and answers.
  • Anthropic, whose AI model writes the text described in section 2, receiving one shared category at a time and retaining nothing beyond its 30-day operational window.
  • App distribution and in-app purchase services provided by Apple and Google. Purchases are handled by those platforms; we do not receive your payment card details.
  • RevenueCat, which manages subscriptions on our behalf. It receives your account identifier and the purchase records Apple or Google issue, and tells us whether your subscription is active. It never sees your answers.
  • Expo, which delivers app updates to your phone. It receives the app version and platform when the app checks for an update, and nothing about you.
  • Email delivery for account messages such as confirming your address and resetting your password.
  • Our website host, which receives form submissions you send us through twovenn.com.

Our servers and providers are in the United States. If you use TwoVenn from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, your information is transferred there, and we rely on standard contractual clauses or an equivalent lawful transfer mechanism with each provider.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights or safety of our users, or as part of a merger or acquisition, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.

5. Retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can change or remove your answers at any time from within the app.

To delete your account, open the Us tab in the app and choose Delete account. Your account, your answers, your sharing requests and agreements, the guide written about you for your partner, the summaries of shared categories written from your answers, and your subscription record are deleted immediately. Your partner keeps the relationship, the content you both approved, and text the app wrote that you had both already seen; the sharing log keeps its entries but no longer names you. If you cannot get into the app, email hello@twovenn.com from the address on your account and we will delete it for you within 30 days and confirm by email.

Deleted information may remain in encrypted backups for up to 30 days before it is overwritten. Anthropic deletes what it received from us within 30 days. Purchase records stay with Apple, Google, and RevenueCat under their own policies, and deleting your account does not cancel a subscription: manage that in your Apple ID or Google Play settings. Server request logs are kept for a short period and then discarded.

6. Security

Your information is encrypted in transit and at rest. On your phone, your sign-in session is kept in the device's secure keychain. Every request to our database is checked against your account, so each person can read only their own answers and what has been shared with them. Comparison between partners happens on our servers, and the app on your partner's device is never sent your raw answers. We considered writing text on your phone instead of with a model provider and decided against it: the quality is lower, the app would be much larger, and results would differ from phone to phone. Access to production data is limited to the people who need it to operate the service. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and contact us if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can see and change your answers, your name, and your pronouns in the app, and delete your account from the Us tab. For anything else, including a copy of your information, contact us at the address below. We may ask you to confirm the request from the email address on your account. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process your information on the basis of performing our contract with you, your explicit consent for the sensitive categories described in section 1, and our legitimate interests in keeping the service secure and running. Neither the shared results nor the written text produce legal or similarly significant effects on you. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

If you are a California resident, you have the rights described under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what we collect and the right to delete it. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.

8. Children

TwoVenn is intended for adults and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes we will let you know in the app or by email before they take effect. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.

10. Contact
